Keshava Movie Review: Stylish Crime Thriller

Director : Sudheer Varma
Producer : Abhishek Nama
Music Director : Sunny M.R
Starring : Nikhil, Ritu varma, Isha Koppikar

Story :
The story of the movie is based on a law college student(Keshav) who is on a hunt down to kill all those who destroyed his family in a dreadful accident. Keshava commits a series of murders and a special officer(Isha Koppikar) is appointed to address the case. Remaining of the story is how Keshav dodges the police officers and completes his revenge with the help of Satyabhama(Ritu Varma).
Plus Points :
Keshava is absolutely Nikhil’s film until the final scene. Credit must go to the young actor for choosing such a dark role and essaying it with a lot of ease. Nikhil’s performance is considered one of the biggest assets of Keshava. Right from the first scene to last scene, he holds his emotions and showcases how  intense he can get in his act. The way he goes about committing his crimes and gives a settled performance will win him a lot of applause.
The stylish narration by Sudheer Varma is another advantage. Even though he chooses a routine script, the manner he has showcased it in a elegant manner is what clicks. The way he reveals the film chapter sensible and brings in various twists in correct. Vennela Kishore’s comedy works wells for the movie.
Ritu Varma looks good and ably helps Nikhil in all his endeavors. The suspense that is generated during the first half is very good and has been showcased in a gripping way. Isha Koppikar makes a decent comeback and is a perfect match as the cop. Anasuya’s voice fits Isha completely.
Minus Points :
The story of the film is simple and there is not anything to look forwad ahead as the film runs completely on the screenplay. Even though the motive is good sufficient for the hero to take revenge, things could have been showcased in a more gripping and harsh manner for the audience to get connected.
The heart disease that is showcased through Nikhil’s character has not been dealt well. The director had a very good chance of raising the proceedings trough this problem but he missed out on the chance.
Technical Aspects :
Keshava is a totally stylish movie that has come out in the latest beyond. Diwakar Mani’s camera work is outstanding as he maintains the tempo of the movie along with his lighting and intense visuals. The drone shots used to showcase the various chases and tense scenes look fantastic. Background score is ok and might have been higher. Sunny M R’s music is ok. Editing is quite sleek and so were the art direction. Production values by way of Abhishek Pictures are high-quality as the small towns in Godavari location have been showcased lavishly.
Verdict :
On the whole, Nikhil once again lives up to his expectancies and comes out with a different crime mystery. His overall performance is tremendous and is the mainstay of the movie. Stylish narration by Sudheer Varma, engaging first half and arresting visuals are basic assets of the film. But, the film down barely during the second half with too many things happening quickly. If you keep your expectations in check and go well prepared, Nikhil and Keshava team will ensure you a stylish crime thriller to watch this weekend.
