Thalaivaa in Hindi with Akshay Kumar ?

It is the latest buzz doing the rounds of the industry. Even before its release, Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s Thalaivaa has garnered a lot of attention and sources say that there have been impressive offers made for the movie’s Bollywood remake rights. Going by the current Bollywood trend and its stars’ penchant for remakes of southern films, reports suggest that Akshay Kumar is keen to act in the Hindi version. When this newspaper contacted producer Chandraprakash Jain of Mishri Productions he said, “It is true that we have been getting offers from biggies but nothing has been finalised.” Heaping laurels on his hero, he says, “Vijay is a ‘producer’s delight’. I have a reason to say this. I am a traditional producer who would want to be present on the sets every day during shooting. 

 But with Vijay, I don’t have to bother because he understands a producer’s difficulty while making a movie and is highly cooperative and committed.” He recalls Vijay’s concern when they were shooting in Sydney recently. “It was an early morning shoot. There were some permission issues on the first day and we could not start. After waiting for an hour, Vijay became restless about wasting time in a foreign country and called and asked me the reason for the delay. He has concern for the producer,” says Jain. The film, which features Amala Paul in the lead, is expected to release in August in as many as 2,300 theatres around the world.
