Bullett Raja Movie Review

The local gangster saga couldn’t be better narrated than Tigmanshu Dhulia. The director who is efficient in reciting regional politics takes one step ahead through Bullett Raja.

Raja Mishra (Saif Ali Khan) who belongs to a Brahmin family in UP is victimised by the nexus of police, the government, and the industrialists. With the fire of personal revenge, greed and ambition he becomes a gangster to break into the system to revolt against them. In the meantime, he falls in love with (Sonakshi Sihna) who is from Kolkata. Tigmanshu Dhulia narrates the rise of one such gangster through Bullet Raja in his unique ishtyle.

His gangster is ‘rangeen’ who respects women, dances with them and does every that thing, which brings smile on their faces. On the other side when it comes to avenge, he never hesitates to insert the bullets down the flesh of the baddies.

The USP of Dhulia’s Bullett Raja is once again the dialogues and the events, which are not inspired by any previous flick. His love to the political origin and his keen interest in presenting the local politics could be easily garnered from numerous sequences including the conversation between Saif and Jimmy, which are hilarious at the same time.

He crafts his characters nicely and builds them perfectly. Though, in ‘Saheb, Biwi aur Gangster returns’ I was a bit disappointed with the masala elements in the flick but Dhulia’s flicks are not entirely hardcore. He keeps a serious backdrop but executes drama in a filmy way without shaking the concept.

Saif Ali Khan isn’t a Langda Tyagi here but he is as entertaining as he was in Omkara. He displays the Brahmin character with immense zeal and steals the show all over.

Sonakshi Sinha playing his love interest gives a nice performance. But once again has a similar limited scope of being an apple of the eye for our hero.

Jimmy Shergill playing Saif’s buddy in the flick is once again brilliant. His hardcore screen presence in last few flicks has been eye-catching and one never loses his attention over him.

Vidyut Jamwal is hard-hitting as a cop. He fearlessly performs stunts at his own and is impressive in his act.

Mahi Gill continues to slay with her oomph is desi style. Gulshan Grover is good as well.

Music by Sajid-Wajid is already a sensation with tracks like Tamanche Pe Disco and Party Getting Hot. The background score is great.

Movie Rating: 3.25/5
