Thikka Movie Review

With back to back hits in the form of Subrahmanyam for Sale and Supreme, Sai Dharam Tej pinned hopes on his new film Thikka. Thikka released in the theatres today. Check out our review here.
There is nothing good to talk about the film. From the beginning to the end, the film never impresses us. In the first ten minutes itself, the fate of the film will be clearly understood. The film starts hurriedly and there is no proper justification given to the further proceedings. You will be clueless about what all happening in the film. There is no story in the film. The more you try to understand the film, the more irritated you become. Simply, Thikka is a film that is senseless, logic less and meaning less.
Sai Dharam Tej failed to judge this script and accepted it. This is a big mistake in his career. There are too many characters in the film and none of the characters were given proper scope. Every character is half baked. The film seems to be a confusion drama but because of the over dosage of confusion, the film completely brings the boredom. There wont be a single scene in the film that will impress us. The entire first half is a waste. It neither has some entertaining scenes nor good songs. There is no connection for one scene and the other. There is no justification about why all the characters of the film meet.
The first half of the film is very bad. There is nothing that the director tried to convey in it. The second half also starts in the same manner. But to some extent, the second half appears as a relief after going through a horrible first half. The comedy track worked in the second half. But with too many actors on screen, none were given proper chance to reveal their performance skills. The film’s plot is interesting when you hear from some other person. A series of incidents in the hero life in one night make him go through several situations where he keeps his life at risk. This line appears to be interesting but the director completely failed in dealing with it in a proper manner. The scenes that were cooked are poorly written. Not even a single scene in the entire film appears to be engaging. Even there is nothing for fans to feel happy about. All that was shown in the film is a crap.
The producer has literally invested a lot on the film. The songs were shot in foreign locations. There were huge sets. There were many actors in the film. Instead of wasting so many crores on such a script/film like this he could have made profits if he can make a content oriented film with a very less budget like that of Pelli Choopulu. Industry needs such films. Thikka is surely a waste thing which brings heavy losses to the distributors and producer. Everything is a waste of cost. Instead of making a rich film, the makers could have concentrated on making a rich content driven film. Thikka never looks like engaging.
Sai Dharam Tej character has nothing new from his previous films. The same loud and energetic guy who runs after girls and fights for her was presented in this film too. Sai Dharam Tej made sure that he wont disappoint the audiences and he was successful too. But even he can not save this film. The heroines are just for songs sake. They dont have proper lip sync and they dont look good. No one from the actors in the film impresses us. Its really disappointing to see all of them wasted in such a boring film. Except for cinematography, music and some scenes in the second half, the film can be completely avoidable.
Positives:
  • Cinematography
  • Music
Negatives:
  • Story
  • Screenplay
  • Direction

Thikka Movie Rating: 1/5

Thikka has nothing good. It just tests our patience. Stay away!
