అదే మరి ఇక్కడ ట్విస్ట్. హీరో మహేష్ బాబు గుజరాత్ వెళ్తోంది ఆగడు సినిమా షూటింగ్ కోసం. గుజరాత్ అంటే నరేంద్ర మోడీ ,....మోడీ అంటే గుజరాత్ కదా మరి. అందుకే మహేష్ నరేంద్ర మోడీ దగ్గరికి వెళ్తున్నాడు అని చెప్పాం. ఈ నెల 18 నుంచి ఆగడు సినిమా షూటింగ్ గుజరాత్ లో జరుగనుంది. ఇంతకు ముందు కొద్ది రోజులు జరిగిన షూటింగ్ లో కామెడి సన్నివేశాలను చిత్రీకరించారు. 18 నుంచి మహేష్ పై కీలకమైన సన్నివేశాలను గుజరాత్ లో చిత్రీకరించనున్నారు.

దీనికి కోసం దర్శకుడు శ్రీను వైట్ల, కెమెరామెన్ తో కలసి గుజరాత్ లో లొకేషన్ చూడ్డానికి వెళ్ళారు. వన్ సినిమా షూటింగ్ పూర్తి చేసుకున్న మహేష్ వెంటనే ఆగడు సినిమా షూటింగ్ కు వెళ్లనున్నాడు. శ్రీను వైట్ల, మహేష్ కాంబినేషన్ లో తొలి సారిగా వచ్చిన దూకుడు సినిమా సూపర్ డూపర్ హిట్ అయ్యింది. మరి ఆగడు ఏమవుతుందో చూద్దాం.

గూగుల్ లో ఈ ఏడాది మార్చి-ఆగస్టు మధ్యకాలంలో సెర్చ్ చేసిన భారత రాజకీయ నాయకుల్లో మోడీ టాప్ లో నిలిచారు. కాంగ్రెస్ ప్రధాని అభ్యర్థిగా అనుకుంటున్న రాహుల్ గాంధీ రెండో స్థానంలో నిలిచారు. యూపీఏ చైర్ పర్సన్ సోనియా గాంధీకి మూడో స్థానం దక్కింది. ఇక మన్మోహన్ సింగ్, అరవింద్ కేజ్రీవాల్, జయలలిత, అఖిలేష్ యాదవ్, నితీష్ కుమార్, సుష్మా స్వరాజ్, దిగ్విజయ్ సింగ్ వరుసగా మోస్ట్ సెర్చెడ్ పొలిటీషియన్ల జాబితాలో ఉన్నారు.

ఇక రాజకీయ పార్టీల విషయానికొస్తే బీజేపీ కోసం నెటిజన్లు ఎక్కువగా సెర్చ్ చేసినట్టు తేలింది. కాంగ్రెస్, అరవింద్ కేజ్రీవాల్ స్థాపించిన ఆమ్ ఆద్మీ పార్టీలు రెండు మూడు స్థానాల్లో నిలిచాయి. ఓటరు గుర్తింపు ఎలా పొందాలనేది అత్యధికులు వెదికిన అంశం. ఎలక్ట్రోరల్ నెంబర్ ఎలా గుర్తించాలి, ఆన్ లైన్ లో ఓటరు గుర్తింపు పొదడం ఎలా, ఓటు ఎలా వేయాలనే దాని గురించి కూడా ఎక్కువ మంది శోధించారు.

మరో ఆసక్తికర విషయం ఏమిటంటే ఎన్నికల్లో ఎవరికి ఓటేయ్యాలో పట్టణ ఓటర్లలో 42శాతం మంది ఇంకా నిర్ణయించుకోలేదట. ‘అర్బన్ ఇండియన్ ఓటర్స్’ పేరుతో గూగుల్ ఇండియా నిర్వహించిన సర్వేలో ఈ విషయం వెల్లడయింది. పార్టీని చూసి ఓటేస్తామని 35 శాతం మంది తెలిపారు. స్థానిక అభ్యర్థికే మద్దతిస్తామని 36 మంది పేర్కొన్నారు. ప్రధాని అభ్యర్థి ఎవరనేది చూసి ఓటేస్తామని 11శాతం మంది చెప్పడం విశేషం. పట్టణ యువత ఆన్ లైన్ తో గాఢమైన బంధాన్ని కొనసాగిస్తున్నారని, ఎన్నికల ప్రక్రియలో చురుగ్గా పాల్గొనాలని భావిస్తున్నట్టు గూగుల్ ఇండియా సర్వేతో స్పష్టమైంది.

New Delhi: A host of senior leaders on Friday met BJP veteran leader L.K Advani in an attempt to convince him on declaring Narendra Modi as the Prime Ministerial candidate of BJP.

Party leaders Nitin Gadkari, Ananth Kumar and Sushma Swaraj were at L K Advani's residence to persuade him on the issue. Meanwhile, BJP President Rajnath Singh is expected to call a meeting of the party's Parliamentary Board today to take a decision on Modi.

Though no intimation has been sent to the 10 Parliamentary Board members by Singh as yet, sources said the meeting is likely to take place at 5 PM here.

Singh has decided to go ahead after holding consultations with the RSS top leadership, including General Secretary Suresh 'Bhaiyyaji' Joshi and Joint General Secretary Suresh Soni. Joshi had met Advani yesterday to persuade him , sources said.

However, Advani is said to be adamant in his stand against Modi and has conveyed to the party that making him the PM candidate will divert attention from BJP's core issues against the Congress like price rise and corruption. Modi, he feels, will become the issue if he is made the PM candidate. "Advani suggested yesterday that the BJP chief ministers should also be consulted on this issue," a party leader said.

Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj and senior leader Murli Manohar Joshi also have reservations about Modi's candidature and have suggested that an announcement should be made only after the upcoming assembly elections to Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Delhi.

Sources said that senior leader Murli Manohar Joshi may skip the Parliamentary Board meeting.

BJP ally, Shiv Sena on Friday supported Narendra Modi as NDA's PM candidate. Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said the BJP-led NDA would win the 2014 general elections if they contest it under the leadership of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.

"Yes, we will win 100 per cent if we fight under Narendra Modi. Yesterday, Uddhavji (Uddhav Thackeray) talked to Modiji, and congratulated him as well. We will welcome it if Modi is declared the PM candidate," Raut said.

NEW DELHI: BJP is all set to announce Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi as its prime ministerial candidate for the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.

The anointment of Narendra Modi has virtually split the top BJP leadership into pro and anti Modi camps.

BJP patriarch and former deputy PM L K Advani, who many believe still harbours ambition of becoming Prime Minister himself, is against the party's decision to officially declare Narendra Modi its PM candidate, at least, till assembly elections in five states which are scheduled to be held by the year-end are over. Efforts are currently on by the BJP top brass to get the veteran on board.

Apart from Advani, Sushma Swaraj, the leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha and a known Advani loyalist, was said to be opposing the announcement of Modi's candidature till the assembly polls are over. However, sources say, Swaraj has been persuaded to soften her stand.

Murli Manohar Joshi is also in favour of postponing the announcement of the BJP's PM candidate.

Rajnath Singh has convened a meeting of the BJP parliamentary board on Friday evening to decide the matter once and for all.

The 12 members of BJP parliamentary board are: Rajnath Singh, former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, M Venkaiah Naidu, Nitin Gadkari, Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley, Narendra Modi, Ananth Kumar, Thawarchand Gehlot and Ram Lal.

The line up in the 12-member board seems clear enough. Apart from Modi himself and Vajpayee, who is unwell, other members who are expected to vote for the Gujarat chief minister are Arun Jaitley, Thawarchand Gehlot, M Venkaiah Naidu, Ram Lal, Rajnath Singh and Nitin Gadkari.

Karnataka leader Ananth Kumar is aligned with Advani but is not opposing Modi. If Swaraj and Joshi too do not vote against Modi the lone dissenter will be Advani.

Among the BJP chief ministers, Goa CM Manohar Parrikar is said to be in the pro-Modi camp. Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, though not vocal in public, has not shown much enthusiasm in favour of Modi. Going by his campaign posters and public speeches, Chouhan still seems to have a preference for Advani over Modi.

Chhattisgarh CM Raman Singh has adopted an ambivalent attitude.

As far as the allies are concerned, Shiromani Akali Dal has already spoken in favour of Narendra Modi. Shiva Sena MP MP Sanjay Raut has also said his party will support any PM candidate chosen by BJP, indicating the Sena's support for Modi.

In BJP's politics, however, all this can come to a naught if you do not have the support of the RSS. And it is here that Modi has scored over Advani. RSS has already given its nod for Modi's anointment.

Barring a major surprise, Modi's coronation is a done deal and he is likely to be declared BJP's PM candidate on Friday evening.

WASHINGTON: A top American official has opposed grant of visa to Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi because of the "very serious" doubts that remain over his role in the "horrific" 2002 riots in the state.

"Modi shall not be granted the privilege of US visa because of the very serious doubts that remain and that hang over Modi relative to his role in the horrific events of 2002 in Gujarat," said Katrina Lantos Swett, vice-chairwoman of the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom.

The bipartisan government commission reviews the facts and circumstances of religious freedom violations and makes policy recommendations to the US President, the secretary of state and Congress.

"There are many, many unanswered questions that remain, there are at are many grave allegations, there are huge doubts," she was quoted as saying by the New York Times.

When asked about the possibility of Modi's nomination as the BJP's prime ministerial candidate for the next Lok Sabha polls, she said, "It is no outside nation's or no individual's role to tell them who should be the next leader of India."

"For the people of India, I think it is important for them to consider very carefully who it is who they want to be their next prime minister," she added.

In 2005, the US denied Modi a diplomatic visa and revoked his existing tourist/business visa under the Immigration and Nationality Act, which makes a foreign government official who is responsible for particularly severe violations of religious freedom ineligible for an American visa, the NYT said.

"Obviously what happened in 2002 in Gujarat was sectarian violence on a really massive scale. I don't think you can say that that wasn't a religious issue. It was a religious issue and the 2005 visa denial harks back to that," she said.

Modi has been lobbying hard to get the decision reversed. During a recent visit to the US, BJP president Rajnath Singh had said he would request for a review of visa ban on Modi.

When pointed out that courts have not yet found any evidence of Modi's involvement in the 2002 riots, Swett said: "Certainly in our system of justice you can be found not guilty, which is not the same thing as found innocent."

"Under these circumstances we should follow our laws, which say that we should not give a visa. Of course Modi wants us to reverse our position because that would be part of his rehabilitation process," she said.

"One of the things that concern us is that Modi seems more concerned with rehabilitating his own reputation than with providing recompense and rehabilitation for the surviving victims of those terrible events," she added.
