Tollywood has been the red carpet for actors of other industries and it is mostly the girls from Mumbai who made a feast by working here.

Among the male actors, it has been the Tamil heroes who established their presence in Tollywood with strong fan base.

Notable among them are Suriya, Karthi, Vikram and others.

However, in the last few years things have not been that favorable for the Tamil Thambis in Tollywood. And one actor who has been doing his best to enter Telugu is Simbu.

He came to Tollywood to rock and show his mettle but even after singing songs no one really cared for him and gave him that space.

Simbu sang for films like ‘Baadshah’ ‘Backbench Student’ ‘Potugadu’ and many in Chennai expected he would make a straight debut too. But nothing has worked out.

For now, Simbu remains in Telugu headlines only for his relationship with Hansika and not for his films because even his dubbed flicks ended up as duds here.

Chreographer turned actor and director Prabhudeva got in to a controversy recently.

During a dance reality show in a hindi channel, he was asked about who were the best dancer, he said Chiranjeevi, Hrithik Roshan, Shahid Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Ram Charan Teja, Allu Arjun Jr. NTR, Dhanush, Simbu and ‘Jayam’ Ravi among actors and Madhuri Dixit, Sridevi, Priyanka Chopra and Sonakshi Sinha among actresses.

Surprisingly enough, Prabhu Deva forgot to mention the names of Raghavendra Lawrence and Vijay, easily among the best dancers in India .

Even dropping out the name of Raghava Lawrence, his real competitor is a understandable issue, citing he started his career as a choreographer under Prabhu Deva but has rose the ranks of actor and a mass director.

But missing out actor Vijay, who is best known for his dancing skills is the surprise. Infact Vijay has impressed every choreographers and fellow actors and actresses he has worked with his dancing style and ease with which he handles even difficult steps.

Vijay fans were unhappy with this development. Realizing this, Prabhu Deva has said that he is sorry for missing out Vijay's name and it was not intentional. He has complimented that Vijay is a great dancer and that's why he asked him to do a "special cameo" in his Rowdy Rathore.

The twin blasts in Hyderabad have rocked the nation and the death toll according to latest reports is 14. As people were moaning and expressing their anguish at the state of affairs, one of Kollywood’s bright young stars was in Hyderabad at the time of the blasts. He is none other than Simbu and he was working in Ramoji Film City for his Vaalu and we also carried news of the star shooting in the city, some days back.

Post the blast, Simbu updated on his social networking site that he is safe and that there is nothing to worry. He too expressed his pain at the blast and appealed for unity among the citizens of the country.

Simbu has been one of the most diehard fans of Ajith, despite being a big hero himself. He has positioned this aspect of his personality in quite a few of his movies too, like Manmadhan, Silambaatam and Vaanam. No one can forget his Billa tribute in Silambaatam or the theater scene in Manmadhan when he shouts ‘Thala Ajith Vaazhga.’

We recently heard that he has decided to follow the Ajith way in real life too by not attending public events and promotional activities. He also makes it a point to see the 'First Day First Show' of all Ajith movies, like the recent Mankatha and Billa 2, along with other fans in the cinema hall.

Now for his next movie Vaalu as well, Simbu is said to reprise his Ajith fan act. With Santhanam and VTV Ganesh for company, we aren’t sure what Simbu is planning but we are sure it would be a treat for his fans as well as for Ajith’s legion of fans.

Valentine's Day is always a good occasion to target the young audience and come February 14th, two young heroes will be offering a peek into their latest films. Simbu and Siddharth, both heartthrobs of young women, will be releasing a single track from their respective projects.

Siddharth announced earlier today that a magical tune titled ‘Yaaro Ivan’ from Udhayam-NH4 will come out on V-Day, and the same day will see a track release from Simbu’s Vaalu. Udhayam has music by G.V. Prakash and Vaalu employs Thaman’s service for the same.
