What is “Balupu” about?
Balupu is the story set in the cities of Bangalore and Vizag. Ravi Teja lives calm in Bangalore as Ravi. He falls behind Shruti (Shruti Hassan) and Crazy Mohan (Brahmanandham) who ditches his friend in the name of love. Shruti slowly falls for her and finally it goes till their Engagement. It was then Vizag Purna (Ashutosh Rana) enters the scene revealing a shocking past regarding Ravi and his father, Mohan Rao. Their flash back and tussle with Purna forms the rest.
How is Ravi Teja?
Ravi Teja is at his usual energetic self. He brings fabulous energy and entertainment with his interpretation of character. And we never get tired of his kind of comedy. Also he looked a lot younger to his age. His rugged look as Shankar is excellent and reminded Ravi Teja of the past.
How is Gopichand Malineni direction?
Mass formula is as simple as 2+2=4 but is highly successful. He embedded mass elements which are expected from a Ravi Teja starer. The comedy track is well written. And the interval bang is superb.
What about Shruthi Haasan, Anjali, and others ?
Shruti is super gorgeous in the movie. She looks hot and has good role in the movie. Anjali gets a little role but is good.
Prakash Raj is excellent as Mohan Rao and Nanaji. Rest of them are okay.
What about Crazy Mohan(Brahmi)?
Brahmanandham rocked the show completely as Crazy Mohan. His comedy track with Ravi Teja and Shruti Hassan brought roaring laughter on the screen. And the Gangnam dance with Shruti and the IPL dance at the end is completely bombed the theater.
How is Music, Songs, Dances &other departments?
Thaman has provided decent album for Ravi Teja in recent times. Song placement and picturization could have been a lot better. Jaynan Vincent’s camera work is good. Editing could have been better in the second half.
Highlights?
1. Ravi Teja
2. Comedy track between Ravi Teja, Brahmi and Shruti Hassan
3. Shruti Hassan’s glamour
4. Excellent Interval bang.
Any Drawbacks?
1. Lag in the second half
2. Not much of novelty in the story
What about its box office prospects?
Ravi Teja strikes the box office with a ‘mass’ive hit
Did I enjoy it?
Yes
