DIRECTOR:  Vamsi Pydipalli
PRODUCER:   Dil Raju
MUSIC Director:  Devi Sri Prasad
GENRE:  Action
RELEASE DATE: 12/01/2014

Story: Sathya (Allu Arjun) and Deepthi ( Kajal Agarwal) are love birds in Vizag. Vizag don Veeru Bhai (Rahul Dev) eyes on Deepthi kills her parents. He along with his brother Ajay, Inspector Sravan and henchman Deva kills both Sathya and Deepthi and set fire to the Vovlo bus they are traveling in.

Fortunately, Sathya is still alive with 80 percent of burns. Dr. Shailaja not only rescues him but gives a new face by doing a plastic surgery. Sathya goes back to Vizag and takes revenge. Don’t think movie is over….

One fine morning, Subba Raju henchman of Dharma (Sai Kumar) spots Sathya in Vizag and calls his boss to let him know that Charan ( Ram Charan) is still alive and is in Vizag. Rest of the story is all about Charan’s past and his rivalry with Dharma.

Performance: The whole film runs on Ram Charan shoulders. Ram Charan gave an electrifying performance as far as action scenes are concerned. The script or screenplay didn’t offer him to show any variations in acting. Ram charan excelled in fights and dances, but nothing special.Ram Charan should be more cautious about choosing the scripts going forward to maintain his position in Tollywood.  He should be more relaxed when acting in emotional scenes or comedy and lighter moment scenes.

Shruti Haasan appears in second half restricted to couple of songs. She is beautiful in ‘NeeYedalo’ song while hot in ‘ Ninnu Chudakunte’ song. Amy Jackson appears in first half and looks hot one song.

Allu Arjun is excellent in cameo. Kajal looked dull and not so cute in the film. Brahmanandam is only relief in the film for 15 minutes in the first half.

Sai Kumar did his best as the antagonist. But his role is not etched well when you consider his stamina on screen. Rahul Dev, Kota, Ajay, Sravan and Supreeth are regular. Jaya Sudha made her presense felt with her performance and powerful dialogues. Shashank, Raja and Vennela Kishore played their part as Charan friends.

Technical: Vamshi Paidipally who is basking on the success of ‘Brundavanam’ with NTR hit a jackpot with the opportunity to direct two mega heroes in one film. But, he failed miserably right from choosing the script to screenplay to execution. First, the story is a simple revenge drama that Tollywood audience is fed up with. Secondly, there is no novelty in the screenplay and every scene in the movie is predictable.

Devi Sri music and background score is highlight for the film. Ram Prasad cinematography is good. Nothing much to say about Peter Haynes fights. They should have been better picturised. Abburi Ravi dialogues are good, especially for Jaya Sudha. There is lot of scope for editing.

Plus: Jaya Sudha, Devi Sri Prasad Music, Shruthi Haasan, Allu Arjun and Kajal cameo

Minus: Ram Charan expression, Old Story, Routine Screenplay Direction, Lack of Entertainment, No Comedy

Analysis: ‘Yevadu’ takes off with an interesting scenes and drama peaks with the killings of Kajal and Allu Arjun. The story appears to be different with Allu Arjun survives the brutal attack gets a new face of Ram Charan. Everyone think at this point the movie as scientific action thriller. But, director poured water on their hopes by making it a simple revenge drama except protagonist taking revenge with a new face in first half and taking the position of dead person in the second half. The entire film runs and ends with a predictable note.

Director should have somehow conceal this transformation in his screenplay and make it interesting to the audience. However, the screenplay is routine and monotonous. The total runtime is filled with either action scenes or songs.

Final Talk: ‘Yevadu’ is strictly for those who are still craving for mass masala action films. The film success at the multiplexes and A centers is bleak. The film may get some good earnings at B and C centers.

Strictly stay away from ‘Yevadu’ even if you want to watch four Mega heroes on single screen(you get to see Pawan Kalyan and Chiranjeevi also in the movie).

Rating: 1.75/5
