Dasara holiday season is going to be blessing in disguise for Telugu movies particularly for Ramayya Vasthavayya and Doosukeltha. Film circles are expecting huge openings for RV which is all set to release in a couple of days. Interestingly, RV film makers are expecting huge collections in Telangana region though NTR’s father Harikrishna resigned to Rajaya Sabha seat in support of United Andhra Pradesh. They cited collections of Attarintiki Daredi though the Pawan’s brother and Union Minister for Tourism Chiranjeevi is lobbying seriously for the United AP. They also say Telangana people are in jubilant mood with the T-note and may prefer to celebrate their festive mood by watching new movies during Dasara season.

Trade circles also say the collections for RV will be on the lines of AD in Seemandhra region with the holiday mood among the people. Samaikyandhra Parirakshana Samiti, spreadheading the movement decided not to take up direct agitations during Dasara season. So, It is a great boon for the RV till October 15th. Fortunately, Vishnu’s Doosukeltha was postponed for a week, paving way for Ramayya Vastavayya to get more theatres in the holiday season. AD collected around Rs.40 crore in the first four days and same collections are anticipated both in Telangana and Andhra regions.

“It will be inevitable for us to open the theatres during Dasara season despite protests in Seemandhra region . Like ‘Attarintiki Daredi’ the movie ‘Ramayya Vasthavayya’ will capitalize during holiday season,” said K Sivaprasad, secretary, Vijayawada branch of A P Film Chamber of Commerce.
