Chennai Express has created history and as predicted by Koimoi the film in a matter of 3 and half days only went on to join the esteemed 100 crore club at the domestic box office. The film’s total collections, adding its paid previews rested at 67.85 crores at the end of its Saturday collections. The movie picked up on on its 1st Sunday and made a brilliant earning of 32.50 crores and with that now its total collections rest at 100.35 crores at the Domestic Box Office.
Chennai Express marks Shah Rukh Khan’s 4th film in the 100 crore club. But this Rohit Shetty directorial now holds the record of speediest entry into the 100 crore club that was previously held by Salman Khan’s last Eid release Ek Tha Tiger which made 100 crores in 6 days only. The film has been on a record breaking spree as it saw the highest opening day collections, highest day 2 collections and now made a record of fastest 100 crore grosser as well. The club currently has 22 entrants with the latest ones being Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and Chennai Express.
