New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party will grab 33 out of 70 seats in the upcoming Assembly Elections in the national capital, the Arvind Kejriwal-led party claimed on Friday, while releasing numbers of its internal survey ahead of Delhi polls. 

Citing his party's third survey report, political scientist Yogendra Yadav said 32 percent people prefer AAP in Delhi, 28 percent Congress and 24 percent BJP. 

The survey, conducted between September 05 and October 05, shows that AAP is trailing in 12 seats but not by a large margin. 

"We will be able to recover in the next 50 days in the seats on which we are trailing," said Yadav. 

"We are clearly ahead in 17 seats, marginally ahead in four seats." 

Raw data will be uploaded on the AAP website within two hours, added Yadav. 

The survey was conducted in all the 70 constituencies in Delhi. 

Mumbai: Bharatiya Janata Party’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi will on Monday land in Mumbai, a day after addressing his first - and a mammoth - rally in Delhi in his new avatar. 

Modi, who is not scheduled to address any rally in Mumbai, will land here at around 4 pm. 

The Gujarat Chief Minister will drive down to inaugurate Mumbai Diamond Merchant Association’s Diamond Hall at the Bharat Diamond Bourse in Bandra-Kurla Complex. According to reports, he is also scheduled to attend a function lined up with an industry association later in the evening. 

This will be Modi’s first visit to Mumbai after he was declared as prime ministerial candidate. 

The BJP hopes that projecting Modi will help them strengthen their core and auxiliary constituency. 

BJP leaders said that Modi is likely to increase his engagement in Maharashtra keeping an eye on 2014 Lok Sabha polls and considering the state’s 48 Lok Sabha seats which are next only to Uttar Pradesh.

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party is all set to unveil a new slogan for the upcoming General Elections in 2014 in a bid to instil confidence among voters. 

According to sources, the party's new slogan will be: Nayi soch, nayi ummeed (new thinking, new hope). 

Narendra Modi, who is likely to be declared as the party's prime ministerial candidate, will be pictured on the posters alongside the party's election symbol lotus flower. 

The BJP is making all efforts, be it social media, mobiles and apps, e-mails or websites, to tap into new communication platforms in a big way. 

A campaign has also been launched by the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, portraying Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as a "youth icon". 

The BJYM is also making use of promotional items such as T-shirts and publicity material including stickers, banners and pamphlets to reach out to youth. It has also decided to organise conferences, seminars and torch processions and use traditional methods such as wall writings, banners, posters and hoardings, apart from spreading its message through FM radio and cable TV. 

Demographically, India is set to become the world's "youngest" country by 2020 with 64 percent of its population in the working age group.

New Delhi: The BJP’s highest decision making body- the parliamentary board- on Thursday finalised its plan for the 2014 Lok Sabha polls and decided to constitute several committees that will work under the stewardship of party’s poll campaign chief Narendra Modi. 

According to reports, the parliamentary board, which also discussed BJP's strategy for the Monsoon Session of Parliament beginning on August 5, decided to allocate more responsibilities to its senior leaders. 

Accordingly, BJP general secretaries and other top office bearers will be asked to head these campaign committees that will work in close coordination with Modi. 

The members of the Parliamentary Board today discussed the allocation of election campaign responsibilities among its general secretaries and top office-bearers in the run-up to Assembly polls in five states and Lok Sabha polls next year. 

Party sources said the committees which will shoulder various aspects of the poll campaign, from rallies and reaching out to the youth to preparation of the manifesto and publicity literature, will be announced tomorrow. 

The Parliamentary Board had earlier authorised BJP chief Rajnath Singh and Election Campaign Committee Chief Narendra Modi to form these committees and appoint the members. The views of the Board will be given due respect while finalising the names, sources said. 

While election in-charges and campaign heads for the Assembly polls to be held in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Delhi will be appointed, it is unlikely that Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj and her Rajya Sabha counterpart Arun Jaitley will head any of them. 

However, senior leaders will be involved in the overall campaign to these election-bound states.

Nitin Gadkari has reportedly turned down the offer to head the poll campaign for Delhi as BJP's prospects are grim and being a former president of the party he feels it is a minor responsibility. Gadkari was keen on getting the charge for Rajasthan. 

Eleven committees are likely to be announced tomorrow. 

These will deal with conduct of rallies, public meetings; preparation of the manifesto; publicity literature, advertisement and media management; reaching out to various sections of the society- youth, women, professionals, rural and urban voters; campaign through social media; campaign programme of leaders and their travel plans; logistics and so on. 

While general secretaries have been given charge of states and organisational responsibilities, the new list is likely to be about their roles and functions.

Singh and Modi will consult the leaders concerned as well as the RSS before coming out with the list tomorrow. An attempt has been made to ensure a collective role for all senior leaders and to ensure that no feathers are ruffled, sources said. 

The BJP's ideological parent, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has reportedly directed Modi to take along all top party heavyweights in a show of collective leadership. 

The Parliamentary Board meeting was chaired by BJP chief Rajnath Singh and it was attended by all senior party leaders including LK Advani, Narendra Modi, Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley and Venkaiah Naidu.
