The security has been tightened at the Chanchalguda central jail in Hyderabad as the YSR Congress Party President and Kadapa MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is set to be released around 2 pm on Tuesday.
A large of well-wishers and party activists have started gathering near the prison premises to have a glimpse of the leader who will walk free after being in jail for nearly 16 months. Though the CBI special court granted him conditional bail on Monday, the formalities of furnishing the bonds and sureties could not be done because of paucity of time.
Jagan's lawyers have completed the formalities on Tuesday and he will be released in the afternoon. A three-tier security has been deployed at Chanchalguda to avoid any commotion.
Soon after coming out of the jail, Jagan is expected to proceed to Telugu Talli statue to garland it. Later, he will garland the statue of his father and former Chief Minister late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy before going home for an emotional union with his family members.
Jagan's release on bail is bound to transform the political scene in the state. He will emerge as a rallying point for anti-bifurcation agitation in Seemandhra region as his party was the first to take a firm pro-united AP stand. His release is a big morale-booster for his party cadre.
It will not only revive the fortunes of his party but also give a new thrust to politics in Andhra Pradesh at a time when the state has been boiling over the bifurcation issue.
He is sure to emerge as the undisputed leader in coastal Andhra-Rayalaseema regions in the prevailing political scenario as YSRC has already been espousing the cause of a unified state, observers say.
Despite a strong movement for a unified state, the Seemaandhra region has clearly been devoid of a leader and Jagan, political analysts believe, could now emerge as one.
