He may be a Star in Tollywood but that stardom had no use in Mumbai. 

We are talking about Ram Charan’s debut in Bollywood and to add to the insult, he was defeated in a big way by a very small hero. 

Apparently, Ram Charan’s ‘Zanjeer’ and Sushant Singh’s ‘Shudd Desi Romance’ released on the same day.

According to the first weekend collection report, ‘Zanjeer’ touched Rs 9 crores. This happened despite the presence of stars like Sanjay Dutt, Priyanka Chopra. 

On the other hand, ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’ has collected a whopping Rs 22 crores. 

This only goes to show how Charan scored an utter flop in Hindi.

With this, sources say he has fallen into a big thought and is reportedly planning to put Hindi films on hold for a while. 

As it is, he doesn’t have a big hit in Tollywood so it is heard that Charan is thinking of focusing on Tollywood very seriously. 

Well, it looks like ‘Zanjeer’ has taught Charan a hard lesson.

After going through a series of disastrous flops, Ravi Teja regained life when he scored success with the film ‘Balupu’ and before talks of his next project came about, the Mass Maharaja dropped a bomb with the news of him making his debut in Bollywood. Apparently, Ravi Teja is entering Bollywood with a film titled ‘Singh And Kaur’.

This was to be directed by Samir Karnik of ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana’ fame. But the latest reports say Ravi Teja is slowly looking at dropping the Bollywood plans.

The reason for that is after looking at the fate of his colleagues. Incidentally, Daggubati Rana went there and bit the dust, then Ram Charan went and faced a big blow.

Talk is that when someone like Rana and Charan with their clout could not prove themselves then what is the situation of Ravi Teja?  Though nothing is confirmed as yet, many are discussing on will he also stop his journey. But if the Mass Maharaja proceeds and scores a hit it would be a fitting reply to the Bollywood folks from a Telugu man.

From the time ‘Zanjeer/Thoofan’ got washed out at the box office, a lot of discussion has been happening on the cause for it.

While many have attributed it to director Apoorva Lakhia and the stone expressions of Ram Charan, some are now stating that it is also some guidance error from Chiranjeevi.

Apparently, when south Indian heroes did Bollywood films the directors were from south. Chiru did ‘Pratibandh’ ‘Aaj Ka Gundaraj’ with Raviraja Pinisetti as the director. Nag did ‘Shiva’ with RGV as the director. Venky did ‘Anari’ and it was directed by Muralimohan Rao. All these became decent hits.

But when Chiru did ‘The Gentleman’ with Mahesh it didn’t work. The logic is, south Indian directors have that interest and awareness on south Indian star heroes and are keen on projecting their heroism but Bollywood directors look at him as debutantes and don’t connect that strongly. It is not sure why this funda was not followed with Charan by Chiranjeevi. Getting Apoorva Lakhia was a blunder. If it was a south Indian director then Cherry’s Bollywood debut would have been strong.

Prakash Raj seems to have forgot his stature and uttered XXX dialogues in Thoofan. The film got a disaster talk otherwise he would have faced lot of criticism from family audience who used to respect him for doing decent roles, mostly as a father. Even youngsters did not expect such vulgar dialogues from Prakash Raj. Apart from Samaikyandhra agitations, women groups would have organized protests in front of the theatres where Thoofan/Zanzeer is screened.

Generally double meaning dialougues are common in films. But his dialogues with Mahie Gill have ‘Direct’ meaning. For instance, when Mahie Gill says he has put on a lot of weight so lifting him has become difficult. Reacting to her words, he says “Anduke kadha neeku horse riding nerpinchanu.” In another instance, when Mahie tries to intervene in a situation, Prakash says “Nee noru daaniki okkadaanike,…vaadu.”

What Censor Board doing is a million dollar question.

Ram Charan’s ‘Zanjeer’ was released and when the regional media blasted its bilingual version ‘Thoofan’, many attributed that blasting to hatred towards Chiranjeevi by Seemandhra critics and anger on Ram Charan as he misbehaved with software engineers little while ago.

But national media knows nothing about Ram Charan.

They carry no love or hatred on him for any reason. And here are the lines written about him in national media:

Rediff: Unimpressive Ram, a cop so tough he wears only two inscrutable expressions. My heart goes out to his fans that will have to sit through this tediously trashy film.

IBN Live: Ram Charan comes off as stiff as a wax statue in his Bollywood debut, which barely any emotion, forget brooding anger. His biceps pop out of his uniform, but he barely flexes his facial muscles.

DC: Ram Charan doesn't look like he is made of flesh and blood. He looks pasty and his face is uniquely two-dimensional- he resembles those virtual creations, the guys who get energized on hand-held play stations at the press of few buttons.

ZEE News: Ram Charan Teja seems to have just remembered to sulk for the most part of the 'angry young man' he is supposed to portray.

And don’t attempt to read through public comments in social networking sites. They are more insulting than the above.

Chiranjeevi's worst fears appear to be coming true. 

The people in his own native place are beginning to hate him and started rejecting him and anything associated with his name. 

The much-awaited movie, starring Chiranjeevi's son Ramcharan Teja, is fcing hurdle across Seemandhra region. 

The movie has been released on Friday amidst fears over its commercial success, given the hostile atmosphere in the state building up against Chiranjeevi.

In Chiranjeevi's native village Mogultoor in West Godavari district, the movie faced social boycott. 

The people of the village did not allow screening of the movie. The agitation against bifurcation of the state has reached such a level that even megastar and his family ventures are facing obstacles in the Seemandhra.

In the entire Kadapa district, "Toofan", a Telugu version of Zanjeer, could not screened in the theatres in the wake of resistance put up by the Samaikyandhra activists. 

Similarly, it faced disruptions across the Seemandhra which is seething in anger against the elected representatives of the region who have failed to prevent the division of the state. The anger against Chiranjeevi is growing by the day.

It is only the business interests that are close to Chiranjeevi's heart, his detractors say. 

Even those who followed his film and political career from close quarters agree that it is always the commercial considerations that drive his decisions. 

They cite his decision to merge his Praja Rajyam Party with the ruling Congress in return for Rajya Sabha seat and union cabinet berth for himself and state cabinet posts for his close followers as the example of his approach.

With the agitation continuing to rock the Seemandhra region for 36 days and tempers running high, Chiranjeevi is growing anxious about the box office fate of the bilingual movie, a remake of the Amitabh Bachchan starrer "Zanjeer", a mega hit of the 1970s. 

Earlier, the Telangana heat had hit the action thriller "Evadu", starring Ramcharan Tej and Shruti Haasan. Chiranjeevi had personally intervened to see that the movie release date was adjusted to see that it did not clash with the announcement on Telangana.

The movie, produced by Dil Raju and directed by Vamsi Paidipalli, was originally slated for release on July 31. However, Chiranjeevi was apprehensive that the movie will take a beating commercially if its release coincides with the announcement on Telangana.The megastar had called up the film producer and got the release date postpones.

When the weather report is announced, the mention of the word Thoofan always alerts everyone. 

Well, the impact of Thoofan means weather is going to be controlled by it. 

However, it looks like the Tollywood weather report on the film ‘Thoofan’ doesn’t seem to be carrying any impact on the audience.

Apparently, the film is due for release on September 6th and till now no hungama is happening in the state. 

While some say the makers of ‘Thoofan’ are being cautious not to make much noise so as to incur the wrath of the Seemandhra agitators, few others are saying no one is caring about the film.

Meanwhile, Ram Charan and his leading lady Priyanka Chopra are busy taking part in many programs of the Hindi television and promoting the Hindi version ‘Zanjeer’ aggressively. 

But the same is not happening for ‘Thoofan’. Well, it looks like this storm is not going to create much of a storm at the box office. 

Did Ram Charan’s Bollywood debut fizzle out? Did the people who watched the film come out disappointed? Did Ram Charan make a wrong entry in Bollywood? Well, the answer to all these questions is yes. 

Two days back, Zanjeer was shown to a select group of buyers in Mumbai. 

It is heard that those who watched the film had commented that the film looked more like a Telugu dubbing film rather than a direct Bollywood film. 

Poor director and producer are majorly disappointed with the feedback. 

Unfortunately for Reliance Entertainment, none of their films have been doing well at the box office. 

The Mumbai media has already reported that Zanjeer will be yet another flop in their kitty. 

Many in Bollywood are of the opinion that Ram Charan should have refrained from working in the remake of Zanjeer and chosen a different film as his launch pad. 

Of course, the film’s fate will be known during the first show next Friday. 

We will have to wait for another week to get the final picture. But looks like the negative talk will surely impact the film’s success at the box office.

All mega fans got surprised by hearing the news about ‘Thoofan’ movie as the censor board offered the film with A certification whereas the same version in Hindi treated as U/A.

Here is the real fact about the thing which forced censor team to treat the movie as adult content one. It’s known that toofan movie was encompassed with some hot bed room scenes between cherry and priyanka.Ttelugu censor members reportedly asked the producers to blur some of the angles in the hot scenes. Producers argued with the censor team and refused to do that.

Censor members warned the producers with the consequences and finally made the movie as A certified movie without having any cuts.But the scenario was totally different in Bollywood, In B town having bed room scenes is quite common  for all movies and Hindi censor board was least bothered about all those romance acts .

Now producers are getting ready to pay more tax because of  ‘A’ certification. It’s a rule that tax will be more for A certified movies when compared with ‘U/A’ or ‘U’ certifications. The movie is going to hit the screens on September 6 th and Movie buffs are in hungry for a to watch the film already bookings are opened in multiplexes and all mega fans started rushing through online.

Just when the fans and makers of Ram Charan’s Zanjeer relieved thinking that all the legal complications were solved, the director and producer receive one more court notice. This time it is from Prince Tuli who earlier wanted to join the movie as co-producer but could not. In to the details, director Apoorva Lakhia reportedly borrowed a bike from Prince Tuli as a friendly gesture but the later used it for the Mumbai ke hero song in the movie with out his permission. Prince Tuli is demanding compensation for it and sent a court notice to Apoorva Lakhia and Reliance Entertainments.

However, Apoorva rubbished it off saying, “It is not my duty to know from where Amit procured vehicles when he was the producer. It is ridiculous and I hope I will not be receiving a notice for the sandwiches I ate while he was the producer.”
