Who is Yasin Bhatkal? Trending On Twitter


 Yasin Bhatkal, co-founder of Indian Mujahideen (IM), was arrested from Indo-Nepal border near Gorakhpur on Thursday following a joint operation by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the Karnataka Special Task Force. 

Bhatkal hails from the coastal town of Bhatkalin Karnataka and is related to IM operatives Riyaz and Iqbal BhatkalHe is reportedly third in command in the IM. 

Zarar Ahmed Siddipa aka Shahrukh aka Imranaka YasinBhatkal is a 30-year-old founding member of the IM. 

He is said to have masterminded several blasts across the country, including the 2011 Delhi high court blast, the 2010 German Bakery blast in Pune and the 2011 13/7 triple blasts in Mumbai. 

He is reportedly the chief financer who sent money through hawala for the 13/7 blasts. He visited Mumbai, arranged accommodation for the two other planters and is suspected to have planted the Dadar bomb.

Yasin Bhatkal, the 30-year-old co-founder of Indian Mujahideen and a wanted terrorist, was also the architect of the abortive jailbreak attempt at Sabarmati Central Jail, investigators had found. He was the one who planned the escape to Bangladesh and probably onwards to Pakistan.
