Director's Wife Proposed RGV For Marriage

Suchitra Krishnamurty, the singer and actress who was busy in mid 90s has come up with a fictional memoir 'Drama Queen' in which she came out with many interesting episodes of her life.

In an episode she also mentioned her tryst with Ramgopal Varma. During mid 2000s when she worked with RGV for the films like 'My Wife's Murder' and 'Rann', she sent an sms to him 'Ramu! Will you marry me". To this RGV asked Suchitra to come for a meeting.

When Suchitra met him, he replied (as mentioned in the book), " “Suchitra I think you have misunderstood me. Completely. We are not similar at all. Never. I don’t believe in the institution of marriage. I am just not the marrying kind. I use women only for sex and I am very sure that’s not what you want. I like women’s bodies but not their brains. In my opinion, a woman should be seen and not heard.”

Suchitra was shocked by this as well as loved him more for his honesty.

This Suchitra-RGV affair was never into public and now with 'Drama Queen' it has made a spice filled substance for many. Well, this interesting episode was not mentioned either in 'Na Ishtam' or 'Vodka With Varma', the two books those unveiled the inner self of RGV.

It is to be underlined that Suchitra was the wife of ace film director Sekhar Kapoor when she made this proposal to RGV.
