NTR has posed athreat to Chiranjeevi's position in early 2000's with movies like Aadi and Simhadri creating sensation at the box office.
His fans and media believed that NTR will become the number one hero of Telugu cinema industry at that time. NTR couldn’t even get close to that mark even after fifteen years.
NTR’s last big hit Simhadri came in 2003. Even though NTR scored few decent hits with Yama Donga, Brindavanam and Badshah, he couldn’t repeat the magic of Simhadri ever again.
Meanwhile he started experimenting with his looks and choice of scripts to expand his fan base. That hasn’t given rich dividends yet except for increasing his range in overseas market.
Although NTR fans claim that his long waited 50 crore club dream was fulfilled by Nannaku Prematho, trade sources say that is has fallen short of it as the film failed to perform in the Telugu states.
Janatha Garage is like the last hope for NTR fans. They are expecting this film to prove NTR’s critics wrong. Director Koratala Siva mastered the art of delivering commercial hits and therefore everyone is betting big on Janatha Garage.
