Mahesh Babu's 'Athadu' Film Makes Rs 3 Cr Again

Some films best work in theaters and some films best work in TV. And this funda applies even to the top star films too.

The best example for that is the Mahesh Babu starrer ‘Athadu’.

The satellite rights of the film are owned by the MAA TV channel and here is an interesting byte that has arrived.

It is heard that the contract got over and second time they bought the rights again.

‘Athadu’s producer is Murali Mohan and he has closed his banner since the film didn't perform well in theaters. But it is a very big hit on TV.

First time when MAA bought it for Rs 1.25 Cr, the satellite rights business had just started boom.

Generally, the satellite rights were given for 99 years, but don't know what propelled Murali Mohan to sell for only 7 years.

And now sources say MAA Channel has given a whopping Rs 3 crores to renew the contract.

Insiders from the channel reveal even now the TRP is superb and hits top ratings whenever the film is aired.

‘Athadu’ was a 2005 release directed by Trivikram Srinivas but still it has got an impact and connect with the home audience in a big way.
